Cave Temple Dambulla

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), Kandy

After breakfast, begin your day with a scenic visit to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, located just outside Kandy. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, enjoy a guided city tour, soaking in the charming ambiance of this highland town, complete with Tudor-style buildings, colorful gardens, and the peaceful shores of Gregory Lake.
After breakfast, we began the day with a visit to the serene Gregory Lake and the beautifully maintained Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya – perfect spots to relax and enjoy the cool climate. 🌿🚣♂️
At 12:40 PM, we boarded the scenic train to Ella, one of the most picturesque train rides in the world. 🚂🌄 With rolling tea plantations, misty hills, and breathtaking landscapes along the way, it was a truly unforgettable journey.
Upon arriving in Ella, we ended the day with a rewarding hike up Little Adam’s Peak – a gentle climb offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. 🏞️⛰️
After breakfast, we began our journey to Tissamaharama, taking time to explore some of the region’s most remarkable sites along the way.
Our first stop was the famous Nine Arches Bridge in Ella, an architectural masterpiece surrounded by dense forest and tea plantations—a perfect spot to appreciate Sri Lanka’s colonial history and natural charm.
From there, we continued to the stunning Rawana Waterfall, where the sound of cascading water and the misty air created a refreshing pause in our travels.
Next, we visited the Buduruwagala Rock Temple, a hidden gem featuring ancient Buddhist carvings etched into a rock face, offering both cultural depth and a peaceful atmosphere.
By evening, we arrived at Yala National Park and set off on an exciting 4×4 safari. Known as the second largest and most visited national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is home to an incredible variety of wildlife and is uniquely bordered by the Indian Ocean, adding to its dramatic landscape.
After breakfast, we set off on a scenic drive to Mirissa. Along the way, we visited the fascinating Snake Farm in Matara, where we learned about a variety of native snake species and their conservation.
We then stopped at Hummanaya Blowhole, the second-largest of its kind in the world, where seawater shoots dramatically into the air through a natural rock formation—an impressive and rare sight.
By evening, we arrived in Mirissa and spent a relaxing time at the beach, unwinding by the ocean and enjoying the tranquil coastal atmosphere.
We started the day early at 6:30 AM with an unforgettable whale watching experience from Mirissa, where we had the chance to observe majestic whales and playful dolphins in their natural habitat.
Afterwards, we continued our journey to Galle, making stops along the way to explore the traditional Stilt Fishermen of Koggala, visit the Sea Turtle Hatchery in Koggala to learn about turtle conservation efforts, and take a stroll through the historic Galle Fort Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site brimming with colonial charm.
The day began early at 6:30 AM with a thrilling whale watching tour from Mirissa, offering an incredible opportunity to witness blue whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.
After returning to the hotel for a short break, we continued our journey to Bentota, where we visited the Sea Turtle Hatchery & Rescue Center. This heartwarming experience gave us a closer look at conservation efforts aimed at protecting endangered sea turtles along Sri Lanka’s coastline.
Later in the day, we explored the historic Galle Dutch Fort. Located in the Bay of Galle on the island’s southwest coast, this remarkable site was originally built by the Portuguese in 1588 and later expanded and fortified by the Dutch starting in 1649. The fort’s cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and ocean views make it a must-see cultural landmark.
We then returned to Mirissa for a relaxing evening at the beach resort, enjoying some leisure time by the ocean. Overnight stay in Mirissa.
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast at the hotel and take a moment to enjoy your last morning in Sri Lanka. After breakfast, it’s time to check out and bid farewell to the island’s warmth, beauty, and unforgettable experiences.
You will then be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo or Negombo, depending on your departure arrangements, for your onward journey back home.
